These Youtube short episodes were produced to spark interest in both Youtube Red, a premium subscription service, and the Karate Kid franchise for some reason. Is it worth your time? Let's check it out.

Season 1

Episode 1

December 19, 1984. Karate tournament. We watch Karate Kid footage. Daniel limps out. Paf, hiyah! 1:0. 2:0. "Sweep the leg. No mercy". 2:1. 2:2. Daniel does that kick of his. Cobra falls. Fade to black.

Adult sleeping on a bed. Present day. 34 years later, I believe. The guy wakes up, drinks and spits out stale beer. He picks out clothes. There's the trophy in his closet. He fries salami and squirts ketchup on it. He is disheveled. Turns on TV and watches some John Woo-type thing.

Our jerk protagonist

He goes out and meets Miguel. Cobra says, "Great, more immigrants". The kid says he's from Riverside. The kid questions his trash disposal choices. Cobra is cynical and says it's a shithole. The pipes don't work and he doesn't want to talk to anybody. Miguel tells him to have a nice day.

Cobra enters his car and screeches down the street. He sees his nemesis on the billboard, Daniel. He stops by a girl stretching on the sidewalk (???), says "hey" but she just jogs off and mutters "creep". He's cleaning rats from a gutter when kids spray him and he nearly falls off the ladder. He opens a breaker panel and sparks fly (???).

Pleasing a bad client

He sets up a TV. A woman with a cocktail enters the room and yells at him for not putting the TV on the wall across from the door when the room has two doors. What a leather-faced bitch. He begins with the excuses but she cuts him cold with her look. She also shames him for taking a shit (???). Must be divorced.

He tells her to stop bitching. She gets offended. He gets a phone call and learns he's fired. He asks Mike over the phone to pay him what he's due. Click. He turns on the radio and hears Daniel's voice. Cobra wants a pizza from the plexiglass box and the worker just grabs his with his bare hands. Enjoy your E. coli, idiot.

Falling down

Cobra asks for a plate. Miguel is there too and says his grandma isn't feeling well. The worker berates him in Spanish. Wow, what a bunch of jerks all around. A fatty, an Asian and two more idiots get out of a car and enter the store Cobra just left. The want to buy condoms too (probably gay).

Cobra is munching on his pitiful pizza. He sits down on the curb. A woman tells him to beat it at her mart. She thinks he's homeless and will try hustling coin. Two guys punch Miguel out. They tried buying beer. Miguel bought Pepto for his grandma. The two are bullies and pour Pepto over him. Nice native advertisement. I already hate this show.

Bum fight

Miguel mutters "asshole" and gets punched. Miguel gets pushed at Cobra's car. Cobra freaks out and tells them to leave the dork alone. There's now four bullies and they roast Cobra. They make a beeline for Cobra. He tells them to calm down and the Asian kid pushes him. Cobra does a mawashi geri and knocks the Asian down and then beats up the other kids, which are as athletic as tree stumps. That's just wrong and probably counts as assault.

Miguel is impressed when the Asian jumps up and gets beaten again. They all not just telegraph their hits but send it with signed mail using a Western Union courier. Cobra grabs the Asian kid in a chokehold, the police arrives and pepper sprays him. Not realistic, they would have shot him a dozen times in real life. Miguel objects but to no avail.

Out of the slammer

Cobra groans. He's down on his luck, we get it. Miguel runs up to him as he parks to his building. Miguel thanks him and asks if it was MMA. Cobra says it's karate and Miguel wants to be taught. Cobra pretends he isn't interested. Miguel tells him to open his dojo.

Cobra tells him to stop being so annoying. He finds a black woman in his apartment. A old fart rummages through his fridge. It's Sid. My God, this geezer is a fossil and barely speak intelligibly. He tugs at his heart strings and mentions his mom. The black lady is quiet. Sid is his stepfather and flings vile remarks about Cobra's kid, Robbie, who is 15, 16.

Get the hell out of here

The black lady is Rhonda. She talks about Sid's blood pressure. Sid offers Cobra a piece of paper. He's buying him out of his life. Cobra rips the paper. Sid yells at Rhonda; it's lunchtime. He wants to eat belly lox, which is salmon cured in brine. Huh, a new English phrase for me.

Sid tries playing dad and giving advice but then jabs him some more. What a jerk. Is there anyone normal in this show? Cobra watches a movie with Chappy. That's that robot, right? CHAPPY!!!!! We're listening to a message from Chappy. Doug is a pilot. Chappy is a black man. Cobra reminisces while listening to the message.

Going out

Again Daniel LaRusso commercial. The guy sells cars, it's not like he's made it. He does a karate chop and cuts down prices. Cobra's remote is dead and he can't turn off the commercial. Just get up? He throws the remote and smashes the TV. Wow.

Cobra rides, drinks and drives while reminiscing. He remembers Mr. Miyagi and again we see more old footage. Wow, the nostalgia factor is going strong. Cobra takes more swigs and palms the wheel. He stops the car. Where are we? Wow, he's driving an amazing car for a bum.

Echo, echo

Real life flashback. Cobra's trophy gets broken. He was bullied too. I don't know the Karate Kid lore. Oh, it was his sensei. Cobra's car gets smashed into by three girls. Cobra slams their window and asks them to open the door. They screech off. What a loser, I guess. He can't turn on his car, palms the wheel and airbags trigger.

Cobra sees the receipt: LaRusso. Oh, come on. Cobra puts on a hoodie and sunglasses and walks into the dealership. Oh, he has to pick up the car. He shows the receipt. The lady says it's going to be a couple weeks. Cobra wants to have it sent elsewhere. Behind them, LaRusso is about to arrive and greet customers. Cobra freaks out and rushes out but Daniel sees him. Cobra aka. Johnny Lawrence. Daniel hugs him and calls two of his dealers over.

Meeting everyone

Daniel calls him the toughest guy in high school. Cobra says he was defending his girl but Daniel says she wasn't his girl anyway. The two dealers snicker and remind us of the Karate Kid lore. Daniel rubs it in and the dealers pat him. Cobra tells it was an illegal kick.

The receptionist lady, Sheila, walks over. Cobra is riding a Pontiac Firebird. Daniel offers him a new car but Cobra rejects it. Daniel offers a free repair and Cobra again rejects. Daniel goes away and Cobra sees him hugging a girl – it's the same girl that crashed his car. Daniel gives him a bonsai tree but Cobra throws it on the ground.

Cobra goes back home, picks up the torn paper Sid gave him. He's gonna open a dojo and be Miguel's sensei! Cobra shaves and puts a black sweatband on his forehead. It's time to kick some ass and take no numbers, yeah!

Episode 2

Daniel wakes up. He is smiling and happy with his two girls, wife and daughter. He's doling out bonsai trees still and flirting with a lady co-worker, wow. He notices Cobra's dojo sign and painful memories flare up. Wow. He's got Vietnam flashbacks. Miguel gets shouted at. It's not pajamas, it's gi.

Cobra grabs and throws Miguel on the mat. Lesson one, strike first. Never wait for the enemy to attack. We do not train to be merficul. Mercy is for the weak. Miguel Diaz has asthma. Cobra smashes his inhaler against the wall. Miguel meekly protests.

Seeing a hot babe

Cobra tells him he has to have balls to approach a girl at a party. Miguel has never been to a party and says the language he's using is inappropriate. Cobra is lost and shouts once more. Miguel tries doing 50 push-ups on his knuckles. He squirms like a worm and can barely do one.

Cobra tells him to do crunches. A fat guy walks in. He's from the city health department, with a list of requirements. Cobra is clueless. The fat guy will come back next week for inspection. Wow, Cobra looks so old in closeup.

Pew, pew

A fat kid is playing an FPS on his SONY tablet. Oh my God, he's so fat. Daniel comes and tries to talk to him. The kid doesn't want to move anywhere. His name is Anthony. Daniel is being pampered by his wife. She offers martinis. Isaiah approaches and shakes hands. Isaiah's daughter is a 2/10. Wow, you have to see how unseemly this girl looks.

She asks about Samantha and Daniel's wife interjects with an obvious lie of she being with her grandma; she's with her friends. It's a once-a-year party. She asks him what's his problem. He talks about Cobra. Anthony shouts and asks for a drink. In Cobra's dojo, Miguel is wiping the mats. He questions Cobra's methods. Cobra tells him to fix the exposed wires. Is Miguel a certified electrician? Cobra then launches a beer cap using some weird arm twist. How?????

Former champion

Miguel asks about Cobra's trophies. He reminisces. Miguel answers his phone and says he loves someone. It was his mom and she doesn't approve of violence. Miguel never knew his dad and doesn't know what's Guns N' Roses.

Party. Girls giggling. It's so much fun. Oh, it's Samantha and her two airheaded friends. Kyle has been eye-banging her all day. It's the Asian kid. Rory does a flip and a girl films it for her channel. The guys are wearing Daniel's bathing shorts. He chases them away. Samantha is pissed. Daniel's wife berates him. He doesn't want Samantha turning into a brat. A fat guy walks in, again wearing Daniel's bathing shorts.

Reminiscing about Miyagi

Daniel sees a photo of Mr. Miyagi and sighs. He reminisces about training karate with his daughter. He tells her true karate is in the head and heart but never in the stomach. That will decidedly not help her in a real-life scenario.

Samantha's friends talk to Samantha. The brats are bratty. Daniel walks in. They have an awkward conversation. He apologizes for chasing people from his own pool and house. He asks about these guys and she name-drops Kyler. She is shy and he asks if she has been sending nudes. She is grossed out. He wants to invite Kyler to a dinner.

Samantha can handle stuff

Miguel is in the cafeteria dodging bullies. He asks to sit with the nerds but they joke with him and eventually welcome him. Demitri and Eli, the latter of which is a man of few words. Two bratty girls walk by in slo-mo. They are the rich girls.

Demetri seems angry about not having status. That incel, he will probably do a Minassian. Bratty girls are looking at them. Miguel thinks they might not be mean. Yep, the mean girls are talking about the nerd table, wow. Unreal. Eli tries to hide his birthmark (upper lip scar) and a mean girl roasts his sweater. How imaginative. Samantha says it's so wrong to say that.

Hot and mean

They snicker at Isaiah's daughter. I'm with them on that one, my God, she's unseemly. Is that considered normal? Samantha smiles at her. The blonde mean girl is called Yasmine. Demetri says he's pining for Yasmine but won't make a move. Miguel says "you have to strike first", stands up and approaches the mean girls' table, and yes, it's in slo-mo. That idiot Asian guy, Kyler, sits next to Samantha and ruins Miguel's moment.

Kyler waves at Miguel, who goes back to his nerd buddies. Cobra teaches Miguel how to punch a mannequin. The cobra strike is lunge and bite, with the idea to punch behind the target. It can bloody noses, break teeth, smash tracheas etc. Miguel's phone rings. Cobra's phone. Carla Jenkins, Robby's principal, calls to inform Cobra his kid is doing marijuana.

Dad and son

Cobra berates him for doing drugs but Robby calls him a pathetic loser. Wow, so contrived. Miguel is caressing the mannequin and Cobra screams at him to punch! PUNCH! Miguel imagines Kyler and starts punching while screaming. Wow, disturbing.

Daniel is trying to impress Kyler with his yanagi mastery and sashimi-cutting skills. It's the famous LaRusso ponzu toro. Kyler waits until he's done to say, "No, thanks. I don't like sushi." Nice manners, asshole. God, this show is making me angry. Daniel's wife tries to mend matters but Kyler is oblivious. Daniel is fuming but simmers down.

Beating kids

Daniel asks about the bruise on Kyler's face and hand. Kyler is coy but blurts out it wasn't a peer he was fighting. Daniel probes more and Kyler says he was jumped as he was buying p-protein bars by a bum that knows karate.

At the dojo, Miguel is doing menial tasks. Cobra tells him to clean the toilet too. The kid obeys and is listening to music. Great setup. Daniel walks in. Tense music. Daniel barely squeezes accusations through his teeth.

Cobra says he didn't beat up any teenagers; he kicked the shit out of assholes. Daniel says that's rich but that he isn't there to rehash the past. Cobra says Samantha's friends were beating up a kid. They face off on the opposite sides of a tatami in a cool shot. Miguel comes in. Daniel warns him they aren't done and walks out. How come they didn't get into conflict sooner?

Episode 3

Miguel's exercising in his room. His nan is spying on him and thinks he's jerking off. Miguel's mom comes in, she's а nurse. Miguel wants to be Deadpool for the Halloween dance. The costume is pricey but nan doesn't want to hear. Mom sees Miguel's injuries on his hands.

Cobra is struggling to attract students. Miguel wants to learn kicking. Daniel and his wife are chatting. He is hawking Samantha and Kyler. Daniel's co-worker, Louie, quotes a movie and tries to give advice to Daniel. Louie suggests spying on Samantha's phone.

No bullying

We hear a lesson about cyber-bullying. Kids snicker at Eli's scar. Miguel advises him to pick up karate. Samantha and Kyler are chatting over their phones. The HR lady talks about racial sensitivity for Halloween. The unseemly girl scoots over to Samantha and suggests a pair costume: Na and Cl. When people ask what they are, they pour salt? This girl is aggressively unfunny.

Samantha ignores her and the unseemly girl pouts. Cobra is holding a sign advertising his dojo. He wants the homeless woman to do it. She offers to show her bits and wants meth with a burrito. Cobra puts up flyers for his dojo and tries sharing them with people. Nobody wants them. Women snicker and laugh.

Scoring babes

Cobra approaches two guys playing basketball. He offers them karate lessons as a way to score women. They mock him and riff on his headband. Daniel spies on Samantha's messages. It's Kyler telling he can't wait for the dance. There's no "seen" function, I guess. Kyler promises something "big". Daniel's wife walks in. Wow. She knows what's going on.

Cobra comes in and sees the homeless lady eating. Miguel is waiting for him. Cobra isn't in the mood but Miguel wants to bring his mood up by talking about an app and social media. Miguel's ringtone appeals to Cobra, who says to meet him at midnight at high school. They will practice kicking. The unseemly girl is called Aisha. Samantha says she doesn't like her salty idea.

Mom, tell dad

Samantha's mom understands. Daniel mentions chaperones for the school dance and volunteers. Samantha clangs her fork and looks at him. She pleads to mom, who tries to leash the protector. Samantha wants a promise he won't embarrass her.

Cobra brings Miguel to the swimming pool and ties his hands. Uh-oh. Cobra pushes him in the pool. Wow, what a jerk. Miguel is drowning. Uh, hello? Cobra goes in, pulls him by his hair and tells him drowning is for pussies. Miguel is panicking. I don't think it works that way. I know because I panic in water too and I overkick aka. burn through all my energy right away and get a cramp.

Keep kicking

Miguel comes to the surface through leg power alone and stay there for 3 minutes. We see a training montage. Ten minutes. They're spotted by the janitor and have to run. Cobra gets more colored paper in the mail; past due etc. Cobra tells Miguel they will pick up more students. Miguel wears old drapes as a costume. Pathetic.

Cobra says they have a reputation to uphold. Smoke billows and a skeleton-clad person appears. Miguel? Que????? He meets Demetri, who cosplays a necromancer and Eli, who is a surgeon and has a conveniently placed surgical mask over his deformity. Demetri says he's from "The Amulet" and Eli that he's a plastic surgeon who fixes lips. Oh gosh, my heart is melting.

Chaperone duty

At the dance, the HR lady awwws over Daniel wanting to be chaperone. Cobra is cockblocking some dude who looks 50 and is smooching a girl with his flyers. Aisha is wearing her Na shirt. My God, I'm cringing so hard. Samantha approaches her and says she likes her costume. Aisha tries to rub it in her face and says it doesn't work without the chloride. Samantha tries apologizing but Aisha understands she's not sexy enough for a real costume. What, like a slutty nurse or a succubus?

Samantha's bratty friends call her back to take selfies. She chats with Aisha a bit more and goes back to her slutty flock. The HR lady is flirting with Daniel when he sees Miguel in his skeleton costume and gets hardcore flashbacks to the first Karate Kid, I guess. He follows Miguel and sees him putting up the Cobra dojo flyers. He finds and confronts Cobra.

This is ridiculous

Daniel tries to be the bigger man and calls it childish to bring back Cobra Kai after what his sensei did to him. Cobra says he's not Kreese and the lessons worked. Daniel calls it garbage but then sees Samantha and runs after her. Miguel and his two nerd friends are about to ask three Khaleesi to dance. Demetri says they've got time but then a fat Doctor Who guy waltzes in and snags one Khaleesi.

The two guys go to the bathroom. Yasmine is mocking Aisha stuffing her face, calling her a pig at the trough. Samantha and Kyler are in an empty room. They kiss. Kyler wants to show her something in his pocket, it's only that he has to undo his belt. She helps. Daniel is rushing in and hears, "It's so hard". Daniel confronts them. Samantha wants to fall into the ground. Kyler shows some bauble he wanted to gift Samantha, who is angry and storms out.

Trolling Aisha

Samantha meets up with Yasmine and asks to go out. Yasmine is sending troll messages to Aisha. It's a video of Aisha eating with a pig nose filter and the caption "THE BUFFET TABLE IS UNDER ATTACK!!!!!" The mean girls laugh and share the clip. Aisha is fuming and waddles out. Samantha is feeling miserable. The three nerds are peeing.

Kyler and his crew walk in. He's talking how he was about to give Samantha a bracelet. It's his shtick with sluts. Nerds want to eavesdrop but Eli knock over a mop and the jocks hear them. Tense moment. Miguel is left all alone. Kyler recognizes him. Miguel isn't intimidated. He tries fighting but gets beat up. Cobra sees mementos of his girl in the display case. He enters the bathroom and sees Miguel.

Episode 4

A guy brings in a broken laptop and wants it fixed. The techie says it will take a while. It's because the logic boards use ATX-standard form factor. Sure, buddy. Techie asks for his password. It's a scam? The kid just walks away with the laptop. Wow. It's Robby, Cobra's son. I didn't recognize him wearing a different shirt.

Robby notices Cobra's dojo flyer. Cobra is wasted. He brought Miguel in and had his parents forbid the two of them hanging out. Yeah, happens a lot. Why did he do it, though??? Cobra notices Daniel's billboard, approaches a guy doing graffiti and gives him beer for a spray can. Daniel is making chocolate chip pancakes. Wow.

Fat kid gorging

Anthony rushes in and starts gorging on the pancakes. Daniel asks him to chill out and leave some for Samantha. She's not coming in. Anthony overdoes whipped cream. Samantha storms out the house, without so much as looking at her dad. So tragic. Daniel sighs on his drive to work. It's his wife. She wanted to brace him for the billboard. He thinks it's about Tom Cole's billboard.

It's a big red dick. Daniel calls the police but his wife tries to calm him down. Wow, she's such a insidious control freak. She says it's no biggie and he'll blow the competition away. He's not laughing. His co-workers are already talking about it. Meanwhile, Miguel's mom gives him a pack of ice, which he puts on his ribs over his close. Palmface. She is trying to coax the truth out of him. He won't squeal.

More lessons

Miguel wants more lessons. Mom won't let it. Nan is on his side, which is a surprise. Where's his dad? Miguel tries defending Cobra and calls him a great man. Cobra's phone is ringing. He passed out on the floor of his apartment. It's Ms. Jenkins, Robby's principal. She wants to talk about their canoe trip down the Colorado and Cobra's "note" that excused his absence for two weeks.

She threatens holding back his son if he's in school within a week. Cobra goes out. Miguel says he needs him but Cobra says the dojo is a goner. Samantha is in school. Aisha is being mocked with pig snorts. The video has gone viral. Samantha tries to console her but Aisha is angry. Kyler rushes in and hugs her. He's got the movie tickets.

Tragic shit

Kyler is trying to get to blow him. Wow, what a jerk. Daniel is trying to ping Samantha but she's not responding with anything except "k". Daniel's world is falling apart. Someone brings in a 100 sausages to his work. It's from Cole's on Van Nuys. His wife says they've got lunch but he isn't entertained and calls someone.

Daniel's cousin and Anoush are painting over the billboard. He rushes them. We see Robby and his crew doing some degenerate stuff. They are watching something on the laptop. Cobra barges in and mentions the Colorado trip. He mentions his mom. The kid gets mad. Cobra tries to give him a pep talk but the boy is cynical.

Not caring

Robby says he's not going to school. His mom is OK with it so Cobra can just walk out of his life, which he does. Wow. Robby slams the door behind him. The three nerds are talking about karate. Miguel says it felt nice to gain some confidence. Eli says he liked how Miguel fought back. Demetri talks about invisibility and super speed being two best super strengths, so you can run away from danger.

Kyler and his fluffy-haired friend swoop in. Kyler asks who are they running from but the friend says "whom". It's rude to correct people. The nerds try leaving. Kyler mocks Eli's facial scar. Miguel tells him to stop. Instant drama. Kyler pushes him out but grabs Demetri's bag and throws it in the trash can, where there's some yogurt. Wow, such a petty and third-grade bully.

A sick burn

Samantha saw the bullying. Miguel's mom is there for him with her car. She wants them to go to the movies and see the new Spider-Man. He knows it's about keeping him away from karate lessons. He just wants to go home. Wow, what a failed parent. Just ask him what he wants, you wretched woman. Daniel and his wife are listening to some woman shill her marketing packages. Why did Daniel let his wife get involved with his business? She's constantly undermining him.

The lady pitches to Daniel and indulges his sense of self-esteem. She calls Daniel's karate gimmick great but he protests. Again, his wife pitches in with her womansplaining. The marketers show Daniel what they did for Tom, a skit where he is dressed like a patriot fighting "the hated British". Um, sweatie, marketing based on alienating your customers rarely works. What if a British person comes to Tom's dealership for a vehicle?

Great American deal

Tom copied Daniel's bonsai gimmick and is doling out drought-resistant cactuses (we're not speaking Latin so no need for Latin declension). Daniel can't believe it. Isn't that a breach of confidentiality, showing competitor's material? Wow. Daniel gets up, sighs and storms out. Some guy is boring a girl to tears with internal and external auditing definitions. She's passively-aggressively slupring her drink through a straw. Wow.

Who is this lady? Oh, it's Cobra's wife, I guess. He walks in. She tells the boring man, dubbed PJ, to get them a table. He says he will order a dozen oysters. She plays coy. Cobra sits down and berates her. She pretends she's there to be a bartender. Her name is Shannon. He says Robby is circling the drain but she seems to be happy with it and somehow makes it his fault.

More about Robby

PJ comes in but Cobra hisses at him and keeps talking to Shannon. She complains about not being able to make Robby do anything. He says he's not giving up. She starts raging and flings insults, calling him a bad dad and herself a good mom etc. Wow. She says it's too late and that there are no do-overs. That's not true. She walks away with PJ to their table.

Daniel enters Tom Cole's dealership and warns a potential buyer to read the fine print. Tom laughs it off. Daniel says Tom's marketing idea implies he's unpatriotic and a water-waster. Tom mocks his karate chops. The entire dealership laughs. Tom offers Daniel a boba tea but he doesn't want it. Tom apologizes and says there's enough room there for both of them but then insults him one last time.

Spin kick

Daniel appears like he will storm out but turns around and spin kicks Tom's boba tea from his weak, geriatric grasp. Wow. Daniel now storms out. Samantha and Kyler are watching a movie. It's a cringy teen drama. Kyler says they don't have to watch the movie and does the arm. He moves in for a kiss but she leans away and says she saw what he did to the kids in the library. He says they're all friends but she isn't buying it.

Kyler tries doing the arm once again and moves his other hand up her privates. She pushes him away and storms out. He grabs her but she pushes him and runs off. Cobra is stuffing his face with more junk food. He sees a family at another table. Dad and son jousting with forks. Cobra smiles. He visits Miguel's family and says Miguel is the only person who hasn't given up on him. Miguel's mom is skeptical but Cobra promises he won't give up.

The wise nan

Nan was listening to it and says she likes him. Daniel is making breakfast. His wife is testing his mood and mentions Tom Cole. She says Samantha can't stay mad forever. Anthony whines about eating a dry English muffin. He wants a burrito. Samantha enters. She seems amicable today and wants pancakes. Daniel will make some but Anthony objects.

Daniel says he will invite Kyler over again but Samantha won't hear about it. Daniel is gleaming but manages to keep his composure. Back in the dojo, Cobra is packing things when Miguel comes in. Miguel says he's ready to take things to the next level. Cobra says he has to learn the best defense there is; more offense.

Daniel seems so happy now and flips Tom Cole's billboard. Daniel enters his dealership and the two painters show him Cobra's flyers, saying they found a bunch of them up on the billboard (??????). How????? The cousin brings up family honor. Daniel has flashbacks.

Episode 5

Miguel is woken up by his cell phone. He puts in his headphones, turns on the music and starts doing pushups. Wow. Training montage. He's doing more workouts. Cobra is doing chokeholds on him. Wow, easy there tiger. Miguel dodges Cobra's kicks and punches. So, fitness training. Day in, day out. Inspiring music. Miguel learns how to dodge a chokehold. Cobra finally falls down but blindsides him with a baseball.

It left a huge bruise. A bunch of women enter. They are doing yoga, I guess. Some lady subtitled Fauna centers her energy. Daniel is eating a fancy dinner with that fat guy from Monthy Python's Flying Circus restaurant sketch. His name is Armand. My God, he is fat. They are eating lobsters. Actually, he is eating for both. Armand complains they revoked his membership in that club they're at.

Stupid rules

Daniel says it's a stupid rule that got him banned and says, "I mean, this is the entire reason we wear flip-flops in the shower, am I right?" Oh, I see — flip-flops are worn in the shower so the wearer avoids a foot fungus infection. So, Armand had a foot fungus infection and got banned from the club? Samantha and her mom are at the club too. Yasmine and Moon (the third slag) are at the concert but told Samantha they won't go.

Anthony is drinking butter. He engages in a pissing contest with Armand's kid. Anyway, Daniel wants Armand to tell him first if some hot real estate becomes available. Daniel promises to have him reinstated in the club if he offers him Reseda real estate first. Armand is confused; he only has a strip mall in Reseda. That's the one where Cobra has his dojo.

Frozen pizzas

Robby got the frozen pizzas for Shannon. She needs to run a couple of errands. He's tense. She doesn't apologize for being an alcoholic. He asks about her new boyfriend, I guess he means PJ. She is crass about his stick. She mentions Cobra coming to see her. Robby is interested. Shannon says Robby is going to leave her one day so she has to find herself a man before that happens. Wow. No shame at all. She leaves.

Cobra is training Miguel. Somebody enters. It's Aisha. He says there aren't any girls in the dojo. Miguel asks him to talk in the office. Cobra thinks it's sexism and says women have tiny, hollow bones. Miguel is on her side and says her dad is Isaiah and she is a paying customer. The kid is right.

No icky girls

Aisha meekly complains but Cobra shouts her down. She talks about cyber bullying and being told she's ugly. Cobra calls them pussies and says bullies in his day at least had honor. Wow. Daniel is offering 110% of strip mall's price but Armand seems greedy. Daniel lies. Armand smells a hidden reason. Daniel pushes a bit more but Armand won't budge. Daniel finally tells him to enjoy peeing in his own shower. Oh, now I see! The rule was about not peeing in the club shower. Armand hangs up.

Yasmine is getting high with Moon. They're doing weed. That lady bum wants money. Moon makes eye contact. The bum, Lynn, knocks on the window and asks for money. Yasmine thinks of the worst case scenario. Samantha jumps in the car and freaks the girls out. Yasmine says Kyler told them Samantha thinks she's better than them. Wow.

What went down

Kyler told the two girls Samantha went down on him. Moon tells her to apologize and Samantha goes out, wishing Yasmine to enjoy puking. Moon is angry that Yasmine hasn't told her about purging. Woooow. Back at the dojo, Aisha, Miguel and Cobra are practicising. Miguel isn't sure about hitting a girl. Aisha Robinson isn't ready. Cobra tells them to fight. Wow

Miguel apologizes but spin kicks and knocks her down. Aisha gets up, takes Miguel down and knees him in the ribs. Cobra hears a commotion outside. Armand is heard in the convenience store asking for higher rent but the shop owner won't have it.

Rent seeker

Cobra shouts Armand down. The guy wants double rent. Robby is browsing Cobra's website. Shannon and a guy enter. They're giggling. It's PJ. He's working at TBS biz affairs. They enter the room. Robby puts on his headphones and blasts some metal music. Cobra is selling his magazines. The pawn shop owner won't give him anything except a tenner for the Atari. Cobra takes out gold coins.

The pawn shop guy does some math and asks for 60,000 more coins. Cobra is stunned and has a certificate of authenticity. The guy isn't impressed. Wow. Cobra is back at his dojo. Don't they have a contract about rent? Cobra's fridge is empty. He goes out. Again feeling lost? He enters the convenience store and goes to get some beer. Daniel walks in and asks for red spray paint.

Not again

Cobra hears him and gets up. He asks what's going on. Daniel wants to open a dealership on this side of town. Daniel takes some gum and pays for Cobra's beer. Wow, what a power flex. He's at home opening a 2013 bottle of wine. His wife thinks he's in a good mood because he got back at Tom Cole. Daniel says Cobra did the billboard.

Daniel brags about manipulating Armand Zarkarian into raising the rent so Cobra has to shut down his dojo. She isn't pleased and calls him a mental patient. She says he kicked Tom Cole (wrong, he kicked his cup of boba tea). She suggests therapy or acupuncture or whatever so she gets the Daniel LaRusso she married back.

School battleground

School cafeteria. Samantha isn't welcome at Yasmine's table. Aisha won't let her sit down because she heard the rumors too. Wow. Moon seems distraught. Samantha confronts Kyler, who denies saying anything but then cracks jokes about oral sex. The fluffy-haired guy leans in and drops a couple lame gems of his own. She drops Kyler's lunch.

Miguel enters the cafeteria too. Kyler tells everyone Samantha likes dicks like her dad. The crowd gasps. Miguel puts down his tray and faces Kyler, who isn't intimidated and says he's ready for some lame karate. Kyler swings, Miguel locks his arm and says it's Cobra Kai. Miguel punches him, Kyler throws him around and does a chokehold. Miguel slips out and punches him, leg sweeps the fluffy-haired guy, hits the third minion and kicks the fourth. This is some Kingsman action right here.

Like a King's man

The fight continues. Miguel climbs a table, knocks down Kyler with a tray and the crowd cheers. Samantha is impressed and smiles at him. Wow. The HR lady, Blatt, enters and drags Miguel out. Miguel talks to Cobra about it. Cobra says they're both toast when his mom finds out about it. Miguel says his nan got the call and she won't sing to mom. Cobra tells Miguel to follow him, takes him to the trunk of his car and gives him his own shirt he wore in 1981.

Robby is watching the scene and sees Cobra hugging Miguel. He turns around and walks away. At the cemetery, somber Daniel is at Nariyoshi Miyagi's grave. Died at the ripe 86 years old. A war hero. Daniel monologues. A heartfelt moment. Daniel confesses he has no idea what to do. He thought Miyagi had all the answers and that growing old meant he'll know what to do but now feels clueless. He trims the bonsai and keeps talking about losing control over his emotions.

Wish you were here

A sad moment. Oh, Mr. Miyagi, I miss you so. Daniel gets up, bows down to the tombstone and enters his car. He hears Miyagi's voice! It's a lesson about balance. We see a Karate Kid clip. It's a lesson for whole life, to have balance. Wow, so nice. Cobra argues with Armand about rent. He's driving and phoning? He parks in front of his dojo and sees a whole host of kids bantering. They are watching Miguel's Kingsman moment.

Miguel is beaming with pride. Daniel enters his home. He takes out a bin, a bunch of toys etc. His wife sees him. Daniel rolls down a Japanese sign on the wall. He will open a dojo too??? Wow. He puts up a photo of Mr. Miyagi-san. His wife is interviewing Robby. She is impressed and wants him to start Monday.

We see Daniel putting up more photos of himself and Samantha. He seems calm. Emotional music playing. Daniel puts on a bandana and the music swells. He bows and does some katas. This episode dedicated to Pat Morita.

Episode 6

We see the definition of quiver, meaning a group of cobras. A kid puts headphones on and turns on a walkman. What is this, the 1980s? Yup, it's 1979. Wait, walkmans were released that year, so the kid had cutting edge tech? Cool. He rides his bike down the middle of the road. He sees guys riding a motorbike. He peeks inside a dojo and hears the Cobra motto. He's impressed.

Cobra Kai dojo, wow. Flash forward. Cobra snaps back to reality, boom there goes gravity. He enters his dojo, where a bunch of kids and teens are waiting for him. Demetri is whining and calls it an extra gym class. Cobra starts talking but the chatter continues. Cobra shouts QUIET and they all shut up. Cobra puts Demetri down.

Words of advice

Cobra says he feels like a virgin just looking at one of the kids. Wow, dude, chill. Cobra calls them losers and nerds but also that he's seen miracles. There might be hope for them yet. He tells them to line up and they slowly get in a column. He buries his head in his hands. Meanwhile, Daniel is LARPing in his garage. Let's hear his wife's caustic remarks. Wow, the lad basically remodeled the garage. Samantha is looking through Facebook and stalking Miguel when someone tags her in a photo.

It's a photo of a girl with hotdogs crammed in her mouth. It's Yasmine who posted it and all of a sudden bot accounts start liking the picture. It's literally bot account names, such as:

Just report them to F-book and that's it. If nothing, Facebook at least takes down obvious bot accounts.

Useless dad

Daniel comes in and asks what's going on. I can't believe Samantha is taking this so seriously. He asks if her friends will come over and asks her to spar with him. She says it was 8 years ago, when she was 8. He says she nailed him in the jaw. She says she's got homework. He pretends it's all OK and walks away.

Daniel enters the kitchen and asks his wife to do a spin class if she does to the dojo with him. Wife says she knows his tricks. They look at Anthony. Daniel approaches him and asks him for some karate. He's playing Street Fighter on a PS Vita. Nice native ad. Robby is getting ready for owkr. It's his two loser friends. They enter the apartment and plan on hitting na Amazon truck.

Robby has work

The two losers laugh at Robby's pants while advertising for Captain Crunch. Cobra is teaching kids to punch in tandem. Some kids can't even stand straight. Cobra calls out Eli's lip scar and Demetri jumps in to protect him. Cobra says he has to handle real world abuse, which includes being berated and getting an elbow to the teeth. Miguel shushes Demetri but he calls Cobra a Nazi.

Demetri dares Cobra to hurt him because he's their employee. Cobra dares him to hit him. Demetri tries but Cobra deflects it effortlessly. Wow, this is tense. Demetri lunges but Cobra bends and rolls him up on the mat. In school, Demetri is getting cold feet. Kyler sees Miguel, bows his head, turns around and just walks away.

Best salesman

At the dealership, Robby is killing it. Daniel gets a report that Robby is an excellent worker. Anoush (?) says the kid is killing it and Daniel asks if he wants to do karate. Aw-kward. Anoush says he's sick and then working out with Priya. Anoush eats Robby's popcorn and says it's not salty enough. Cousin Vinnie says it's too much salt. They rib him and put him down.

Robby is given the keys to a Porsche and asked to move it closer to the window. In school, Samantha is met with guffaws and a Blow Pop. Demetri helpfully explains to Miguel for the mouthbreathers in the back row that it's because she gives blowjobs. The professors crack lame jokes about pigs. They will dissect pig fetuses. Miguel volunteers.

Taking in a girl

Samantha thanks Miguel. Demetri sniffs wafts her scent. The two dealership guys trick Miguel into starting a car in a showroom. Robby storms out, Daniel follows him out. Robby wants to fight and he quits. Daniel teaches him how to punch. Wow. They chat. Daniel relates. Robby seems warmed up to him.

Kids are dissecting pig fetuses. Samantha asks Miguel what he was thinking for sex. Miguel umms and aahs. Samantha keeps talking about the pig. Miguel exhales. Samantha thanks him for helping her out with the fight. She criticizes his leg sweep. Wow. He is impressed. She says she's going to expect money up front. She offers Miguel and Demetri a banana each; people keep sneaking free food in her bag??? Wow! I want it too!

People are monsters

Miguel realizes the bullies have backed off. Cobra enters the dojo and finds out at least a half of his starting crew quit. He keeps up the stern face, though. Cobra points at Eli and calls him tougher than those guys that quit. Eli asks Cobra to stop calling him Lip. Cobra keeps poking Eli about the lip. Eli says it used to be worse. Dear Lord.

Cobra says he's got to flip the script. Eli bows his head and marches out. in the office, Cobra is ready to get hammered. Miguel says he shouldn't be so hard on them. Cobra calls them a bunch of losers but Miguel calls them friends. Cobra says he's not happy but Miguel calls himself a loser too and says Cobra doesn't know what it's like to be them. I think he does.

At the dealership

Louie apologizes in a forced tone to Robby, who seems to think it's genuine. Daniel's wife, Amanda, offers Robby a named gray shirt. He seems happy. Louie says he has to do the work and tells Robby how to ingratiate himself to Daniel — deliver a hard copy of a sales report to his house. Wow. Don't they have, like, emails?

Louie says Daniel is old school like that. OK. Robby thinks he's messing with him. Louie says he wants to make amends and that the envelope is on his desk. Somebody's taking stevia, which is a cool sweetener. At home, Samantha is scribbling when someone pings her. She sighs and finds a GIF of a pig talking about being dissected. She chuckles. Wow, a budding romance.

Cobra drunkard

He stumbles into his apartment drinking Coors (tm) beer. He again does the trick with the bottle cap. He sees his old walkman. WOW. It's like 34 years old. Can it still be working? He reminisces of his childhood in a gleaming home. Seriously, it's bathed in gold light. Cobra describes his impressions of the Cobra dojo. His mom is impressed but dad is grumpy. Typical fat cat businessman.

Cobra Kai asks if he can take karate classes. His dad, Sid, laughs it off. The parents start arguing. Wow. Cobra Kai kid puts on his headphones and blasts the music. Robby arrives at Daniel's home. He rings the bell. He circles around the back and sees... Daniel doing katas. Robby thinks Daniel sensed him here; he saw the reflection. The envelope holds an issue of Velvet Vixens. Wow, he didn't even peek at it.

No punching

Robby asks where's the punching and kicking but Daniel says his karate consists of katas. Robby calls it cool. Daniel asks him to stick around and Robby agrees. Daniel finally found his victim. Next day. Three more absences. Cobra says he's been hard on them: calling them names, humiliated them and hit others. He won't apologize. It's all about strength and now they're all weak.

Cobra says he used to have no friends and was a weird kid. Like a cobra, he had to shed his loser skin and find his true power. A mohawk guy enters. It's Eli. He's flipping the script. Cobra says he has a nice cut and calls him "Hawk". Cobra says fear does not exist in this dojo and neither does pain. No defeat either. Cobra faces the camera and asks the class if they are ready to learn the way of the fist. They shout YES.

Episode 7

Robby is detailing the cars. Daniel takes hi hand and shows him how. Robby is bringing the US flag, Daniel does it for him. Robby is squeegeeing the window, Daniel pops in and helps him. You get the point. It's comical. They guy finally has a son he always wanted. The kid is advancing. Amanda isn't criticizing. She seems resigned.

Robby's done but there's another lot. He doesn't want to do all those chores. Robby wants to learn karate. Daniel says he loves this part. Back at his place, he's showing the kid all the moves that he was practicing when he was doing chores. Oh, clever! They spar.

Pricey nunchuks

Robby and Daniel bow to one another. Cobra is showing his class how to stand and punch. They all flinch when he nears them. Almost none of them have ever been punched in the face. He says they're afraid of this "concussion nonsense". They will all get punched to the face before leaving. He orders Aisha to do the job and walks out. She confirms.

In his office, Cobra is looking at a karate magazine. Miguel walks in and says there's a lot of blood. Wow. He wants girl advice from Cobra, who says he shouldn't accept defeat and all the babes want to date one of his students.

Robby's crew

Robby's eating when his two loser friends come in. They have an idea to hit his workplace. They want to steal auto parts, like rims and stereos. All Robby has to do is give them the security code. They try shaming him and blackmail him with revealing what they did to that kid in Ventura. Miguel approaches Samantha, who's typing on her phone in school (?). Miguel does a cringe introduction and asks her out.

She says it's really sweet but she'll see him in class. He tries again and proposes just a friendly hangout. She says it's a deal and they can get together at eight. Robby is taking photos of license plates when Amanda passes by, chats with him and punches in a keycode. Robby films the keycode. Wow.

Tournament showdown

Cobra is registering his dojo for a tournament. Miguel is asking for date ideas when Eli gets up and show them his tattoo of a blue-haired hawk. Wow. Aisha is impressed and is Miguel. 14 hours in the chair. Aisha asks if his parents know; they don't. Aisha says Samantha likes chocolate and astronomy.

Cobra has been banned from the tournament for a lifetime. There's nothing he can do. Miguel tells him to not accept NO and Cobra agrees. Wow. Cobra wants to go there and beat them up. Miguel suggests a smarter way of fighting back.

Robby and bonsais

Amanda and Daniel talk about Robby. She is sort of jealous. Daniel tries to hide that he sees him as his son. We hear about Mr. Miyagi's Little Trees business idea; Daniel think it was just bad luck that it fell through. Meanwhile, Robby is trimming bonsai in the back but sucks at it. Daniel joins him.

Daniel reminisces. Not contrived at all. Daniel suggests Robby think only of the tree and visualize what it will look like. Robby tries it and it works. He thinks it's a metaphor. Daniel tells him it's true, sort of. Daniel leaves. Robby is buzzed by his loser friends.

Cobra in a suit

Cobra is ready for his meeting. Miguel suggest holding in the rage. Cobra says he will try. He brings a briefcase. It's empty and he found it in a dumpster. Cobra tells him to make a move on a date or he will be her girl friend.

They are going to the observatory. Cobra suggests the arcade. Wow. It's not the 1780s, man. Samantha is surprised and says she loves this place. It's a mini-golf place. They have so much fun, play games etc. Samantha wants an octopus toy. They both touch it and look into each other's eyes. They realize what's going on and look away.

Lifting the ban

Obviously, the ban has to be lifted to progress the story. Let's see how. The karate committee discusses banal stuff, such as the color of the mats. One black dude says the attendance is way down; it should be blue mats and gold fists. Oh, I see. Cobra enters. They think he's here for the AA meeting. He says it's not it. They then think it because of turned hot dogs from last year.

Cobra says his dojo has been banned. The committee seems confused and one even mutters "I didn't know we could ban anyone". Daniel waltzes in and sits next to other committee members. He is gloating. Meanwhile, the two losers are trying to rob Daniel's dealership. Robby's not there. Does he need to be there? All he has to do is give them the code.

Robby is there

Robby shows up. He has the code. His loser friends seem excited. Robby says he can't, uh, he won't. Why did he come there then? To confront them? One of the loser friends tries to hit Robby with an (spends 30 minutes watching boxing videos) American hook. Damn, it's not just telegraphed but sent by a carrier pigeon across the continent. Robby is amazed and stares at his own arm for blocking the punch.

Both attack Robby. He fights them off and proceeds to throw them around. They punch his kidneys and corner him. He got them on the security feed, wow. They scamper off. Meanwhile, Miguel and Samantha play the hoops. She is a Lakers fan. Her family has had season tickets for years. Right at half court. She realizes she's humblebragging and says it's no big deal. Miguel is ashamed.

Only go sometimes

Miguel tries to humblebrag too and lies that he does textiles and helps kids see Lakers games. She invites him to a game. Next, they are in a photo booth. She takes his arm and puts it around herself. Wow, grabby. They make faces and smile. Wow, so cute and wholesome. I sure hope there won't be any kind of tragedy that will unravel their relationship.

In the committee, they re-read the reason for the lifetime ban. Cobra is asked about his relationship to Terry Silver. Daniel interjects with a question about John Kreese. Daniel interrupts again and again until one committee member tries shushing him. He starts quietly raging. Come on, we all know Cobra is going to get unbanned.

Cobra gets unbanned

Cobra feels his rage rising. Blood muffles his hearing. He is about to punch someone. Cobra says his sensei didn't always play by the rules. Mention Daniel's winning kick being illegal? Cobra talks about his dojo being a wholesome place for the community. They are standing up for themselves and he's making a difference. He says they are making a difference in his life as well.

The committee says Cobra sounds like he's changed. Daniel starts raging again and calls Cobra a bully. The committee head calls for a vote. Cobra thanks them all and goes outside. Miguel and Samantha are awfully close to each other on a bench. She is eating. They banter. He is showing her karate moves and touching her. Of course she knows what he's doing but he's clueless.

Hands on her hips

He says this move is hard. Sure, buddy. She grabs and tosses him down in a weird judo move (?). She puts her foot on his chest and calls herself "Sensei Sam". Wow. She straddles him and calls it the best date she's ever been on. He says it's not a date, technically. Kiss? Music swells as she leans in and kisses him. Wow. She says that wasn't a kiss either. He goes along with it.

Cobra is waiting as Daniel storms out and sarcastically congratulates him. More 80s music. Miguel comes to the dojo with his bike. Inside, Cobra puts up a poster and fist pumps. Miguel shouts he's the man. Cobra shouts he's a man too. They hug. Miguel wants a soda but Cobra brings out the real stuff that will put hair on his balls. They chink plastic cups and drink up.

Episode 8

Cobra and his students are at a junkyard. He apparently gives them a pep talk but then shouts and throws a beer can at them. He tells them their best isn't all that great, to put it mildly. If they want to win, they have to be better than best. He orders them to bash cars, jump car tires and balance on planks put over dumpsters.

They got to be hungry. He gives them beef jerky and blows a whistle. Dogs run in but they seem playful more than aggressive. Eli gets his rump chewed on. Meanwhile, Anthony (Daniel's useless son) plays something on PS Vita. God, please don't tell me it's Silent Hill. In the game, the protagonist is surrounded and chewed on by dogs.

LaRusso family

Daniel's mother comes in. She cherishes Daniel's baby brown eyes. Daniel fires up the barbecue. He's slandering Cobra and whining about the committee giving him the chance to compete. Grandma calls them a bunch of bullies. Wow, bigoted much? Samantha meekly protests. She prods Daniel to talk about how these bullies pushed him down a hill.

Anthony pipes in and says he thought it was a cliff. Daniel's mom refuses prepackaged salad. Amanda says she was busy. Really? It takes literally 5 minutes to make a virtually infinite amount of salad. Daniel's mom humblebrags about being able to work and cook. We get it, gran, you are made of adamantium.

Louie gangsta

Louie opens a beer bottle gangsta style, against a chair. Amanda isn't happy about it. Louie suggests getting Cobra's car. Samantha asks if all people associated with Cobra Kai are bad. Daniel says Cobra Kai never change and asks her to stay away from those kids. Meanwhile, Miguel is punching the mannequin. Cobra tells him he's got the best chance of winning.

Miguel looks at his phone and giggles. Cobra approaches, snags his phone and says, "You're dating a Capulet?" Oh, sorry, I got my tragic romances mixed up. He says, "You're dating a LaRusso?" Cobra takes Miguel out and gives him the "during the war" speech, except it's "during the 80s". We hear about Rocky III and Mr. T. Lovely Jubbly.

Reminiscing

Cobra talks about he and his friend Dutch were out watching a move. Dutch started throwing Milk Duds at girls. Miguel asks why. Cobra says it's an alpha move. OK, boomer. He says women love when you treat them horribly. One of them started yelling at them. That's when Cobra saw Ali. She dumped popcorn and butter over Dutch. Cobra hit on her a few times before she gave him the chance.

They were madly in love and dated for two years. For Valentine's Day, he gave her a pink jelly bracelet. She gave him his bandana. They then got into a fight. That's when Daniel came into the town. He started hitting on her. Cobra saw them flirting. We see more clips from Karate Kid. Daniel kept butting in and Cobra told him to get lost and Daniel punches him. Cobra simply defended himself.

More reminiscing

Daniel then douses Cobra with a water hose. Poor Cobra. Bully lives matter. Cobra tries talking to him (meaning beat him) but Mr. Miyagi shows up and assaults Cobra and his poor buddies. Oh, wow. Cobra thinks his friend Tommy got brain damage from that day. We see the clip of Karate Kid and that infamous kick.

Snap back to reality. Miguel asks who won. Cobra says he lost but also lost Ali. We see Samantha smearing cake on her plate. Grandma asks about Daniel and karate. He admits there's Robby and says he's missing Mr. Miyagi. Amanda says two bikers asked for Louie, who goes on a wild story. Daniel seems exasperated. Louie says he has an idea: LaRusso Luxury Motorcycles. Daniel sighs. Amanda is confused. Daniel says he's not supposed to ever again use his name to make deals.

In-fighting

Amanda rips Louie a new one. Grandma defends him. Oh, spicy. Grandma feigns offense. Daniel tries to mend things but Amanda keeps ripping. Grandma (Lucille) criticizes Amanda's cooking. She agrees and amplifies, telling her she will make whatever she wants. Anthony asks for another Yoo-Hoo (tm). Samantha pipes in and says he makes everything worse. All around bickering ensues. Daniel is ehxausted.

Cobra drives Miguel to his house. Miguel's mom invites him for seco de carne. They say graces while holding hands. Nan says Our Father in Spanish. Y spiritus sancto. They cross themselves and dig in. Seco de carne is a Peruvian dish. Miguel's mom talks about injuries and Cobra says the injuries are often not permanent.

Encino family

Cobra talks about growing up in Encino. Miguel's mom says there are nice houses there. Cobra says that doesn't mean there were nice things happening inside. They talk about plantains and Cobra calls them bananas. Nan laughs first and the rest of the Diaz family follows. Cobra can't figure out what's so funny.

Miguel's phone rings. His mom says he should answer it. Nan tilts her head inquisitively and mom whispers that he has a girlfriend. Miguel does a video chat with Samantha. She talks about the in-fighting. He suggests going to the movies tomorrow. She suggests Sunday. He has training all day. She thinks that's excessive. She was thinking about other dojos, maybe he can try a different dojo.

He is tough

Miguel would never do that to Cobra. He is tough but makes them tough too. Daniel walks in and asks who she is chatting with. He asks Samantha to be a peace maker. She lies about Miguel, who looks confused. Meanwhile, Cobra is questioning Miguel's mom. Diazes are from Ecuador. They left because she got married at 18 and she had to get far away when she learned what her husband was doing. She says mistakes of the past can't determine the future.

Cobra comes back to his apartment and starts cleaning up. Robby arrives somewhere with a skateboard. Daniel's place. He sees Samantha lounging, tries sneaking out and bumps his head into wind chimes. They chat. Daniel walks in too. He invites Samantha to join them. She is going to the mall with mom and grandma. Robby and Daniel are going to the tree.

Beautiful lake

Daniel reminisces about Mr. Miyagi and training while driving Robby. He brought Robby to his special place to train him. It's in the woods and next to a beautiful lake. No internet, cell phones or distractions. Meanwhile, Cobra is setting up a TV on the wall. He looks at a woman's photo longingly. He takes a jug of juice and pours a cup. The TV shows Chappy reuniting with a black man etc. Probably some inside joke.

Robby and Daniel are doing synchronized katas in the wild. Daniel is then wearing the baseball catcher's outfit while Robby punches him. The sun sets. They are still doing katas and roundhouse kicks. Robby says he feels like Jackie Chan. Daniel tells him he's a natural and tries spilling wisdom. Wow, a grown married man taking an adolescent boy to his secret training place? That wouldn't go well in today's #MeToo environment.

More training

Daniel says there's the matter of balancing his life before his moves start mattering. He starts talking about Robby missing his dad. Robby says he needs to tell him something but then doesn't spill his guts and thanks him for being his teacher. Robby climbs a vertical tree trunk and does kicks. He tries doing a hook kick but falls down into leaves. He's all right.

Daniel tells him to get back up and tray again and then takes out his cell phone. Hold on, didn't you say this is the perfect spot for training because of no cell reception or internet??? Daniel says The Devils are playing the Islanders. It's hockey. Robby mentions the spiel about no distractions; Daniel says hockey doesn't count.

In the cinema

Miguel, Aisha and Eli are watching some action movie. Eli is pelting a girl with popcorn. Miguel and Aisha discuss Samantha. Eli tells him he's such a nerd. Aisha says Daniel is a really nice guy. Eli keeps pelting the same girl with popcorn. Eli tells Miguel to just go over there — it's an alpha move. Eli's popcorn hits a massive black sitting below the girl he was aiming at.

The dude stands up all angry. Eli pretends he didn't do anything. Meanwhile, Robby is still doing kicks on the tree trunk, like a true orphan delinquent autist. He gets down and sees Daniel doing a single hand handstand. He calls out to him and Daniel collapses. It's the most powerful kick in Miyagi-do karate. Nobody knows how to do it. Daniel could never do it.

All the moves

Daniel says he's ready for the next challenge: finding the car. Sid yells and says he wants his bagel toasted. The maid ignores him. Someone's at the door. The sassy black maid opens the door. Cobra enters. Sid berates him and thinks he's there for money. Cobra takes out an envelope filled with cash and slides it over. Sid doesn't believe it and says he'll be back next week to ask for it.

Cobra says he never needed his money, it was just that was the only thing he could give. He says goodbye and walks away smiling. Closure? Meanwhile, Amanda and Lucille have buried the war hatchet. Daniel and Robby walk in. Is it customary to just invite total strangers to dinner? Daniel asks Samantha how she did it but then says he doesn't want to know.

Miguel moving

Miguel arrives at Daniel's house and practices the entrance line: "Hi, I am Sam's boyfriend." Oh boy, how wrong you are. That girl is spinning guys like plates. He hears the laughter in the distance, peeks through the window and sees them all eating dinner (chicken cacciatore). He walks away. Meanwhile, Cobra is writing a letter to Robby. He's done a lot of thinking lately.

His biggest screwup was his relationship with him. He wants a chance. Glass breaks. Louie and his two buddies are smashing Cobra's car. Wow. One guy sprays gasoline over it. Cobra starts kicking and punching fools. Finally, he got to Louie and asks him where Daniel lives. The asshole friend torches Cobra's car. He grabs the biker's motorbike and speeds away.

Episode 9

Robby is skating. He does tricks to an awesome metal track. He keeps falling but then does the one hand handstand. Daniel is making breakfast: toast and coffee. He too has a soundtrack but his music is classical. Outside, Cobra is staring at him. Daniel runs out and tries to avoid responsibility. Anthony asks Daniel to kick his ass.

Daniel tries to call the police but Cobra grabs him and his instincts kick in. Amanda berates them both and says they should get some breakfast instead. Cobra says he could eat. Miguel is doing a practice test but seems distraught. Demetri says he at least has a girlfriend. Samantha waits for Miguel outside and kisses him. He says he was distracted because the tournament.

Family dinner

Miguel says he'd want to visit her family. She isn't going for it and proposes two shakes at a joint. He thinks she's got another guy and walks away. Meanwhile, at Daniel's place, there's a huge argument. Amanda is the mediator and proposes Daniel give him an old beater just to get rid of him. Anthony tries provoking Cobra, who isn't intimidated.

Daniel sighs but seems ready to give him a car. Miguel talks to Demetri, Aisha and Eli. He is depressed. Eli suggests beating up the other guy. Demetri says he's jumping to conclusions. Aisha sees a snarky comment on one of her videos. They will strike at Yasmine's birthday party. At the trade-in lot, Cobra is about to pick a car for himself. 2009 Challenger. Cobra wants a test drive. There is nobody else to chaperone Cobra, so Daniel will do it.

Hit and run

Amanda asks Samantha about hitting Cobra's car. She admits to it. Amanda asks for her phone, laptop and smart watch. She's grounded. During the test drive, Cobra is pushing the pedal to the metal. The two men bond. They listen to REO Speedwagon and nod their heads in sync. Funny scene. Cobra pulls over in front of the old place where they fought.

More nostalgia. Swimming pool. Daniel is wowed. He calls it mind-blowing insane. There's water in the pool but only barely. Cobra talks about Sid. He goes out. Meanwhile, Aisha, Eli and Miguel are buying food. They are gonna invite everyone.

Buying beer

The Hawk grabs a carton of beer. Miguel is trying to call Samantha. She sees her phone buzzing but her mom won't let her answer. Anthony rubs it in. Her mom takes it out and rejects the call. Miguel leaves a voice message and apologizes, saying he would love to see her today. The Hawk chats up the clerk, who asks for an ID. It says Walter Hawkman. The clerk says "whatever" and Hawk takes 8 bottles of vodka too.

Someone rings the doorbell. It's Robby. Samantha grabs her chance and tries answering the phone but Amanda comes back and she storms off. The two men are drinking at the bar. Daniel asks for a club soda. They bond some more. Cobra said he would get bullied at home every day and that's why he joined the dojo. His sensei was basically a father figure.

Bonding again

Daniel says he lost his dad when he was 8 and found a surrogate father in Mr. Miyagi. Daniel orders some liquor. Meanwhile, Yasmine, Moon, fuzzy friend and Kyler arrive at the party spot and see the nerds getting drunk. Kyler sees Miguel and chickens out. Moon sees Hawk and beelines to him. Yasmine is furious and torn.

Miguel decides to get drunk without Samantha and gets a beer. Wow. What a message for young people. Samantha is reading "As I lay dying". Robby is limping. Amanda offers him a ride by Samantha. She hides her happiness and offers help. He needs to walk it off and suddenly feels much better. She says he pulled a "Keyser Soze". Wow. She offers them going to a party and mentions her boyfriend. Uh-oh.

Even more bonding

The two men reminisce and bond some more. It keeps going. They mention Facebook. Cobra says he has no idea what it is. Daniel shows him the pics of his ex. They browse the photos. Meanwhile, the party has gotten bacchanal. Miguel is on the verge of passing out drunk. Demetri tells him there's no more beer. Yasmine calls Moon to her. Demetri asks Hawk how he transformed and he says it's just living in the moment.

Demetri sees a Yasmine with her hands folded and decides approaching her. Uh-oh. Not good body posture. He says he saw it's her birthday. Her facial expression is a mix of disbelief and horror. She turns her head away from him. He talks about the only woman in his life being his mom. Wow, dude, calm down. He tries explaining himself but gets more and more tangled up in his stupid explanations.

Not a creeper

He then says he's not a creepy stalker. Sure, that's exactly what a stalker would say. He is more of an admirer from afar. Yasmine says he's a loser and walks away. She goes to Aisha and confronts her about hijacking her party. Yasmine tells her she's a fugly bitch and her friends are all freaks. Moon doesn't want to go and apologized Aisha. Yasmine storms off but then Aisha gives her a wedgie. Oh, wow. The crowd looks and laughs.

Not cool, girl. Robby and Samantha arrive. He says they're lucky to be alive. She says her relationship with Miguel is a secret because her dad hates his sensei. She says she feels so guilty. Wow. She says it sounds like a total soap opera. They walk in and Miguel sees them, feigning happiness.

Fight brewing

Samantha asks Miguel if he's been drinking. He starts whining. She says her mom took her phone. Miguel pushes Robby and accidentally hits Samantha. Wow. She says Daniel was right about Cobra Kai. She runs off with Robby in tow. Daniel and Cobra are almost hugging. They schedule a fight, like in Rocky III. Wow. So many references. They enter Daniel's dojo and Cobra comes face to face with Robby.

Cobra pushes Daniel. Robby gets in between them and wants to protect Daniel. Wow. Cobra turns around and walks away. Wow. The drama is worse than in Turkish soap operas. Daniel kicks Robby out of his house. Daniel's trophy was knocked over and broken. Wow.

Episode 10

All Valley Sports Arena is being prepped for the tournament. The preparations are still going on but the soundtrack is cool (Queen's "I Want It All"). Miguel is practicing his punches. Bert talks about buying a "carton of milk" (porn magazine) when he saw Cobra yelling at the air drunk and pissing at his car. They theorize what happened to Cobra when he shows up. Wow. He has one more lesson to teach them.

He holds the speech inside the Arena? He tells them there's no mercy. Life isn't fair. They wake up feeling good but then life does unspeakable things to them. Everything can fall apart at any moment. Life shows no mercy so neither do they. They do whatever it takes to swelling music. They're badass. They're all smiling and Miguel shouts COBRA KAI.

Sunny outside

In the house, nobody is talking to anyone. Amanda tries to bring them together; she won't go there herself. LaRusso Auto Group is a main sponsor, so they should go. Wow, no communication between them. Samantha meekly suggests they go. Daniel agrees reluctantly. The Arena is getting filled up. The karate committee pats itself on the back for choosing blue mats. Daniel enters and shakes hands with a sour grin. He sees a poster of his crane kick. Wow, it was illegal.

Miguel's mom is worried but nan is relaxed; she smoked a joint before she came there. A karate mom is all in it and even painted her face. Amanda did mention them, wow. Cobra enters, all in black gis and in lockstep. Wow. Daniel has flashbacks. Robby Keene enters with no dojo, wow. How is any of this legal? Whatever, let's see some fights.

First fights

Miguel does Daniel's crane kick right away. Oh, dude. Daniel is cringing. Samantha mentions to Daniel it's his move. Fights go on. Robby is winning. Aisha is fighting with glasses on. Hawk gets rekt but then lunges with his arms and knocks the other guy down. Moon swoons and calls him hot. Wow, he's so scrawny. Demetri can't believe that actually works. Bert is next. He has no chance. The opponent gently kicks him and wins. Miguel fights Eddie from Tekken 3.

Samantha won't make eye contact with him. Robby is also going strong. His hair slick back. He wins! The crowd cheers. He makes eye contact with Cobra. Wow. Who is going to be in the finals? Let's guess. Aisha keeps winning but the opponent leg sweeps her and kicks her gut. Aisha is sour. Samantha goes after her and tells her she did a great job. She gives sympathy, which Aisha rejects. Finalists are Hawk, Robby, Miguel and Xander Stone, last year's champion. He does a cartwheel, backflip, sommersault and lands perfectly. Wow, almost like it was done with wires.

Saying sorry

Samantha says she's sorry. Aisha won't accept it. Come on, accept it. Samantha says the wedgie video is all over Youtube. Aisha mellows and offers to get her a Cobra gi. Xander asks the crowd for a moment of silence to end intolerance. Wow. Cobra whispers Miguel to kick Xander in the face. That Xander kid is really charming and ticks all the boxes, I guess. He's gonna get hurt, isn't he?

Miguel and Xander duke it out. Miguel does a jumping roundhouse kick and knocks Xander down. His mom screeches at him. Wow, are karate tournaments this rowdy? They keep going and posture a lot. Miguel kicks him like an invalid and knocks him down. I guess that's in the script, so whatever.

Robby and Hawk

The two are next. They bow. Hawk is so scrawny, he should defeat a few hotdogs first. Hawk wins the first round. Daniel tells him to remember what he's learned. Robby focuses on his tree trunk lessons and their moments in the forest. Wow.

Round two, fight! Robby wins. Even Anthony comments on it. They shit talk and Hawk kicks Robby in the back. Hawk is disqualified. Cobra tries talking sense in him but it's too late. Robby is automatically promoted but his shoulder is hurting. He apologizes to Daniel in the locker room. Daniel tells him he can't let the bad blood change who he is and to be lucky he has a father. Cobra is looking at his sensei's photo. Can he hear the speech?

Calling a medic

Daniel pretends he'll do some magic but he just calls a medic. Miguel apologizes to Samantha. She folds her arms. He says it was an accident. Wow. Her voice quivers as she tries micromanaging his behavior. She doesn't know who he is anymore. He promises to trounce Robby in the finals. Wow. So much contrived drama.

Samantha keeps her arms folded and asks to go home. Robby is being checked out and the medic pops his shoulder back, giving him an ice pack. Daniel says he doesn't have to fight but Robby says he has to. Uh, no you don't. The moment we've all been waiting for.

Miguel vs Robby

So it's the finals. The announcer suddenly says Robby is no longer unaffiliated but Daniel will be his coach. Sure, just change the rules on the spot. Just give everyone bazookas and let them deal with it. Cobra confronts Daniel. This will never be over. Daniel says to Robby to let the enemy come to him.

The two bow. So, who is going to die? Hiya, hiya! The crowd cheers. Miguel punches the mat. Robby falls. Miguel keeps hitting him in the bad shoulder. Daniel calls a time out and tells Robby to breathe and focus. Wow, the kid is hurting. Someone is gonna get sued for this. Robby's left arm is useless seeing how he's holding his right armpit with it. Come on, let's end this.

Fight to the death

Robby blocks attacks with one arm. Miguel lunges out of bounds. Wow, what a system. Miguel pushes and kicks Robby, who leans on his good arm and does a two-legged jump kick from the ground, hitting Miguel in the chest and winning a point. Robby tries helping Miguel up with his bad arm but Miguel pulls it on purpose. Wow.

We see more flashbacks to the movie, where Cobra did something similar to Daniel. Cobra says to Miguel they don't have to fight dirty. Miguel has no moral qualms about winning. Next point wins. Let's see what happens. Robby wins 100%. Miguel kicks Robby in his shoulder and knocks him down. Miguel WINS! Wow.

Sore loser

Robby looks with puppy eyes. Cobra tries going after him but it wasn't working. Miguel thanks Cobra. Wow. The crowd chants "COBRA KAI". I feel carried away by emotions. Cobra catches up with Robby and apologizes. Robby says it's OK, dad and then goes away with Daniel, who says Cobra won and congratulates him.

Outside, Miguel is being praised in Spanish. He is looking for someone. Demetri congratulates him. He tells him Samantha left. She is watching framed photos of her and Daniel and reminisces. She practices doing a kick? Yeah! She says HIYAH and looks straight into the camera. Wow. Robby is sore loser while driving home with Daniel.

Real winner

Robby says Cobra Kai will take over karate in the valley. Daniel says only over his dead body. He's opening a dojo? He takes him to a lot, with vintage cars covered with tarp. Daniel says that when the fight comes to him, he has to be ready to fight back. He turns on the lights and we see it's an outdoors dojo. Miyagi-Do Karate.

Cobra is again drowning his sorrows in liquor as he's staring vacantly into the trophy Miguel just won. Dude, can't you be happy for just a moment? He thinks it's Miguel but it's actually an old man in a coat, who congratulates him and says Cobra Kai is where it belongs, on top. It's his sensei? Come on, man, reveal him. Yep, it's his sensei and he says the real story has only just begun.

Season 2

Episode 1

We see the same scene that crowned Season 1, Episode 10. Cobra thought he was dead. The guy has been away a long, long time and offers his hand. Cobra slaps it away. Sensei says he likes that. Cobra tries attacking him but sensei drops him like a sack of flour. Cobra lunges from the floor and does a spin kick, knocking sensei's cigar out of his mouth. It lands in the waste basket.

They punch and kick one another. I don't think they're fit for this. Sensei kicks Cobra into a wall mirror and it explodes. Sensei says he wants to talk. Guys... The waste basket is about to burn... Whatever, let's fight some more. Cobra takes sensei into a headlock and has flashbacks to when the sensei did the same to him. Cobra lets him go. Does anyone smell the smoke? The sprinklers go off.

Repainting montage

Daniel shows his vintage car he got from Mr. Miyagi. They do restoration of the dojo. It's a repainting montage. Wow, they have exactly 1.5 people and will need 10 months for this. OK, let's do it. They uncover vintage cars and keep painting. Robby takess off the sling. Wow, he's healed! It's a miracle! They are placing two potted plants on either side of a wooden floating platform; they balance it perfectly.

Daniel says it feels great to get his hands dirty again. Samantha is sulking. Daniel tries bringing Anthony his dojo. He won't lift his head off of his video games. Daniel says you can't let the bullies win and he knows how to beat Cobra Kai. Wow. Cobra is icing his right hand. Someone knocks. He gets up and peeks through the peehole. It's Miguel's mom bringing him food. He likes it. Tres Leches.

Cheering Miggy on

His mom indirectly thanks Cobra for everything he's done but also blames him for this look on his face in some moments. Wow, gratitude much? Cobra says Miguel is a good kid. Cobra is called on the phone. The voice says an address and a time. He says to Miguel's mom it's a wrong number. Samantha goes through her Instagram feed and blocks Miguel. Wow. And she's sighing all the time. Wow, drama much?

Meanwhile, our crew is enjoying a victory party. Demetri says it feels nice. They can't get alcohol. Demetri does a cringe dance. Moon and Aisha laugh. Miguel still hasn't joined them. He's figuring out why he can't find Samantha. She blocked him. Hawk makes a cringe joke. Well, maybe Miguel shouldn't have hit Samantha.

Cobra and sensei

Cobra enters a diner and sees his sensei, John, seated. He isn't hungry. Sensei orders and flirts with the waitress. She is unfazed. John talks about doing tasks in Panama with the Delta boys to catch Noriega. Uhhhh, dude? Is that classified? Cobra asks him what he wants. John asks about brumation. It's about animals digging themselves in holes to sleep there for months. For warm-blooded animals, it's hibernation.

Thanks for the biology lesson. Sensei says he's just emerged from brumation, I guess. He re-enlisted, training SEALs in Afghanistan. And now he wants to train kids in a karate dojo. He says our society has gotten weak and kids are coddled. Is this a secret advertisement for the US Army? Wow. Cobra says that was a nice speech but he doesn't need sensei's help. Cobra smaks his fists on the table and warns him to stay out.

Come on, Cobra

Sensei tries to belittle Cobra by invoking old fears and playing on his weaknesses. Cobra figures it out and says that was past and now he's in charge. He walks out. Sensei takes a sip and watches after him. Meanwhile, Daniel is fixing racks in the dojo. Robby takes a ball paddle out of a box. It's a toy. Daniel says that drum saved his life but then that it's just a toy. Wow.

Robby sees a Medal of Honor. It belonged to Mr. Miyagi. Wow, straight up ad for the US Army. Daniel shows him the first rule of his dojo: "Karate is for defense only". Second rule: "First, learn the rule number one". Wow. Is there a third one? Robby is gloating. Daniel, bro? You're being exploited by a kid who wants to rebel. Hawk is talking about getting his mom's Sentra and putting a blue line down the middle. They see new students. Hawk bullies them.

Throwing a party

Inside the dojo, Cobra yells at new recruits and tells them to get out. They can come back tomorrow. He shouts at present students and tells them they're a bunch of pussies. He grills Hawk and Miguel for their behavior during the tournament. They look at each other. He asks Aisha a riddle about two cobras killing a lion and a crippled monkey in the jungle. Bro, you're sending mixed signals here.

Miguel and Hawk have to do 50 push-ups on their knuckles. Miguel wants to talk to Cobra. He's pissed for being punished. He wants to know what about 3rd rule. Why did he take pity on Robby Keene, Miguel asks. Cobra avoids the question and says Miguel has the potential, which is why he has to be treated harshly.

Samantha comes

She welcomes Aisha in her car. She wants to go to a hike. Aisha would love to but has to watch "Over the top", a 1987 classic starring Sylvester Stallone. It's about arm wrestling to win back an estranged son and a custom truck. Miguel comes out. Samantha makes an excuse and doesn't want to face him. She takes a rain check and drives off.

Cobra is in a Home Depot wearing a Metallica T-shirt. The neckbeard sees the shirt and starts spouting 80s references. Caddyshack? Oh, wow. They were the best era ever. Cobra asks for a mirror glass. He hears Daniel's voice and sees him with Robby. What a coincidence. Robby is trying to find a life lesson in Daniel's choice of shelf screws.

Daniel sees him

Oh, wow. The three meet each other. The neckbeard asks Daniel if Robby is his son. Ouch. Aw-kward. They exchange stilted greetings. Cobra asks Robby about his shoulder. Robby is pissed. Cobra says he's trying to change and that he doesn't want bad blood between them.

Cobra calls Daniel a prick and Robby says he's a better man than he'll ever be. Oh, wow, nasty little guy. Robby says to Daniel it's the same it always goes: cares more about his rivalry than him. Samantha is doing karate kicks. Hiya, hiya! Daniel sees her and is proud. He gives pointers. She is working some stuff out. Wow. Daniel apologizes for not talking about her and Miguel. He talks about his first girlfriend. Wow, aw-kward.

Love lasts for never

Daniel relates meeting a girl. He met Ali. We all know what happened next, those who watched the movies know, at least. Samantha asks what happened with Ali and he says that's a story for another time. Daniel says she'll meet someone new. He knows it's hard. It hurts. Samantha says Cobra Kai brainwashed half the school.

Cobra installs the new mirror glass. He flashes back to when he was given a blue belt. He remembers tearing up. His sensei told him crying means losing and he doesn't teach losers. That was some intense hazing. Meanwhile, Robby is hammering nails into a wooden sign. He sees Daniel doing katas through the paper door. Looks like Qigong to me. Robby apologizes for interrupting. I was right, it's a form of meditation.

Destroying Cobra

Daniel says he's been dreaming how to destroy Cobra but now he realizes there is no enemy. Miyagi-Do Karate won't fight them but show them a better way. Samantha asks if she can join. She hugs Daniel, who brags doubling his roster. Cobra sees sensei his dojo. He says he's sorry and that he was too hard on him. Cobra was his best student. He had too much potential. Sensei couldn't stand seeing him lose.

Sensei has been regretting that night for years but now he has a chance to redeem himself. He just wants another chance. You can't possibly want to forgive him? Sensei plays on his emotions and gives him the trophy from the duffle bag. He fixed it for him. It's the 2nd place trophy from 1984. Wow. It may say second place but, in his opinion, he was always the better fighter. He ambles out and Cobra exits to stop him. Sensei smirks to himself and to the camera.

Episode 2

Cobra smacks the alarm. Training montage of him and Miguel doing sit-ups. They mimic each other's actions. They live next to each other? They sit in a cool car and tear down the road. So far, so good. Two girls stop at the pedestrian crossing next to them. Miguel looks but Cobra tells him to play it cool. They both head bob and tear on.

Robby is waking up. His door opens and objects clatter. It's the two loser friends? No, it's Robby's trash mom, Shannon, and her new boyfriend, Rick. They argue. She and Rick are flying to Cabo adjacent. Robby says they have rent to pay. Rick says he'll pay this month. She will come back in a few days. He has the place to himself. Robby threatens Rick and says he won't get up if he hurts her.

Punching bag

Robby punches a bag. Daniel hangs a photo of Mr. Miyagi. He sighs and says: "Big shoes to fill". Samantha sees Aisha calling and answers. It's Miguel. He apologizes and wants a second chance. She hangs up and goes training with Robby. Daniel rips open a sand bag and makes a circle in the dirt, telling the two to get inside because one of the cornerstones of Miyagi-Do Karate is always moving in a circle (?).

Cobra is taking up new students but is confused by a non-binary prankster. In the Cobra Kai dojo, students rib on each other and practice moves. Cobra's sensei walks in and is floored by the femininity of the students. Miguel asks if he can help him. Cobra walks in and admonishes him for not coming tomorrow.

Doing katas

Daniel's students synchronize their moves. They can't believe that's what he's wanting. They can't do it because their backs are turned. Samantha is skeptical. Amanda calls Daniel to come to work due to an emergency. So, he leaves them alone? Wow. Cobra introduces his sensei as Mr. Kreese and says he's just an observer. Wow. Miguel will now do warmup.

They do a few moves and then a dab. Wow. Miguel says they were just messing around. Time for some more hazing, huh? Aisha chuckles and says it's a snake-doo. Wow, they're like children because they are. He tells them to come tomorrow to another hazing ritual and dismisses the class. Amanda tells Daniel their competitor has poached their best staff and they need to fill their quota ASAP.

Tag team

We see a selling montage where spouses shill their cars. Wow. They want to sell 10 cars. They pop the champange at the end of the day and clink. They kiss and he compliments her. She tries to give him a compliment too. He is trying to live up to Mr. Miyagi. She tries to ground him. So, let's hope Robby didn't impregnate Samantha. The Cobra Kai crew is mixing cement. Wow. They could sue you to hell. Mr. Kreese has his arms folded and says they need to be afraid. A huge cement truck rolls in.

Cobra handshakes with the driver, Cutter, who says he didn't say nothing about no kids (sic). Cutter gives him the keys and says Cobra will take the heat if he gets caughts. Meanwhile, Robbie is looking through the empty fridge when the light goes out. He flips the switch. Samantha is doing katas outside when Robbie walks in. She asks about a move but he brushes her off. Daniel is moving plants from a floating wooden disk.

A monument to balance

Daniel tells the pair to hop in. Samantha is not sure about it. Robbie neither. They take off their shoes and step in the water. It's cold. So, they will dance on the disk? Yep. Daniel tries to assuage their fears. The two climb on top of the disk. They can barely stand still. Daniel is trying to coach them. The two kids make a few moves but then Robbie falls off and Samantha throws herself off too.

Meanwhile, Cobra has news for his dojo. He says a true champion never stops training or they will stay stuck, like cement in the truck. He tells them to get inside the cement truck and make it spin. The kids look at one another. Aisha apologizes on their behalf. Miguel says it's dangerous but Mr. Kreese shouts him down. Oh, wow.

Some more ribbing

Mr. Kreese does some more ribbing of the poor kids. He does point to Cobra, saying he was responsible for their success. He also humblebrags about teaching Cobra all he knows. I'm not liking the cult vibes here. Miguel steps forward and climbs the cement truck. Hawk follows. Inside the truck, it's cement. Miguel slips and falls into it. Meanwhile, Robbie and Samantha do their own slipping and falling (in love). Miguel calls this experience weird. Welcome to adulthood, buddy.

Robbie and Samantha do a synchronized dance without falling off. The cement truck crew is struggling. Come on man, as Joe Biden would put it. They finally start turning the truck. Don't they know cement is toxic to the skin. Cobra cheers for them. How are the small kids meant to do it. Samantha does stuff out of sync with Robbie but doesn't fall off because the pond disc is rigged to stabilize, of course.

Two schools, two philosophies

We see Cobra hosing down his pupils and telling them he's proud of their work. Wow, I can't see this backfiring in today's sue-happy world. Cobra tells them they can push to places they never dreamed of. Samantha tells Robbie today was awesome and offers him a ride. He refuses after a moment's thinking. He apologizes for acting all weird but promises to see her tomorrow. Samantha is crushed by the rejection. Daniel talks to Mr. Miyagi's photo.

Samantha walks in and asks about Robby's home life. Meanwhile, Robby has his power turned off as someone knocks. It's Daniel. He tells Robby it's all going to be alright. Wow. Robby is back to Daniel's place. Amanda isn't happy about it and wants Daniel to talk to Cobra. Mr. Kreese subtly undermines Cobra as they're sitting in his office. Mr. Kreese invites him for a beer and Cobra first refuses but then apparently accepts.

Miguel sees the truth

Miguel walks into Cobra's place using a spare key to drop off some food. He looks at the photo on the fridge and sees a photo of Robby. Oh, no. Mr. Kreese and Cobra walk out of the store as a Spaniard abuses them in Spanish. Daniel confronts them. Mr. Kreese plays coy. We see more flashbacks to source content.

Daniel tries walking away when Mr. Kreese stokes the fire between Cobra and him. The two face off. Daniel won't fight; he's the better mand and walks away, threating a "rude awakening". Wow.

Episode 3

Cobra returns a laptop. Is that the Windows XP startup sound? The tech guy fixes it by — pressing the power button. Cobra takes it to his office and yes, IT IS WINDOWS XP! He can't open the internet and calls the same guy at the pawn shop. He connects to a WiFi and searches for hot babes. Hell, yeah. Real red-blooded man. He searches for movies, finds conspiracies and watches Chuck Norris destroy an extra. He also watches karate highlights when Youtube shows him Daniel's dojo ad.

The ad says "don't be a snake in the grass" and offers free lessons. Wow, that's below the belt. Kids are playing volleyball and Demetri fumbles his serve. Wow, that's pathetic. Demetri asks for a mulligan when Hawk says there's no such thing in volleyball. Two girls see Demetri's towel and he poses for them. They invite him to go swimming with them. Miguel comes in. Miguel tells him about Robby.

Amanda owning it

Daniel gets a ribbing from Amanda because of the dojo. She says it's a mid-life crisis. He grabs her arms and apologizes. Daniel says Mr. Kreese is a dangerous man. She doesn't believe it. Anoush comes in and tells Daniel he's being blamed for cultural appropriation. We hear about bots liking videos. Uh-oh, Anoush, careful where you tread or people might learn that the vast majority of accounts online are bots.

Hawk confirms to Miguel Robby is Cobra's kid. The rift is forming. Aisha tells them about the ad. Cobra is fuming. Mr. Kreese wants to fan the flames. Robby and Samantha are practicing. He thanks her for giving him lodgings. They chuckle and share a moment. She says that's what friends do. Two guys enter the garden and ask for free lessons. Daniel tells them to paint the fence but the black newbie says it's all a scam.

Part of the process

So, not exactly free, huh? Cobra addresses the ad while Aisha is filming him. Cobra kicks a pot held by a student and sprays the student's face with dirt. That's funny. Cobra says "good-old American karate". Wow, much appropriation. He tells Aisha to put AC/DC's Thunderstruck on it but she says the rights will cost too much. He says that he already owns the song; the cassette is in his car. He also asks for a "hash brown" at the end. Wow, that's so endearing.

Miguel and Hawk approach Cobra about Robby. He doesn't defend himself but admits Robby is his son. He tells them it's none of their business and that they clean mats for the rest of the week. Hawk bows and walks out; Miguel stays but then he too bows and walks out. Mr. Kreese was watching it all, his arms folded. He says nothing.

Amanda and Daniel again

They are at the Valley Fest. Amanda tells him to give a demonstration but he takes it in earnest and then she realizes it's a dumb idea. He calls it synergy but she says it would hurt their car dealership. Her facial expression says it all but then she yields. Cobra is again talking to the homeless lady from the start. Mr. Kreese jabs Cobra's ego talking about Daniel's dojo.

Cobra knocks on Miguel's door and takes him for a ride. They eat burgers. Cobra talks about Robby being born on February 4, 2002 (Aquarius). He says he wasn't present. We hear more about how his family was torn apart at Robby's birth. He says he failed his kid and nearly cries. Miguel tries to stop him. I see, so Miguel is Robby's surrogate? Miguel's phone buzzes; it's Aisha talking about the Valley Fest. Face-off is about to start.

Decadent spending

We see people eating deeeeeep fried foods and wasting money. Hell is about to break loose. Announcer introduces Miyagi-do. Daniel, Samantha and Robby are doing katas in sync. The crowd claps. They bow and keep doing choreography. The crowd gasps and again claps. Daniel announces the grand finale. He rolls out a trolley with sheets of ice. Cobra Kai students run to the stage. Daniel is confused.

They storm the stage and the light show starts. Sparks start flying as the students start beating each other up. The crowd is delirious. Even Aisha gets to kick and punch but she does it with the graze of a pregnant buffalo. They toss Cobra Kai towels in the audience. Cobra breaks flaming cinders with this hand. The crowd chants their name. Daniel and Cobra connect their gazes.

Episode 4

Demetri enters the Cobra Kai dojo. Mr. Kreese meets him. Demetri keeps blabbing in his usual format and starts setting demands and commends his tattoo but then starts nitpicking the cobra in it. Mr. Kreese stares him down. Demetri runs out, his nose bleeding. Samantha and Robby are discussing the Valley Fest performance. Robby says they need to start attacking or nobody will show up.

Samantha talks to Daniel, who rambles on about his first job. He says he treated people honestly but they apparently needed a more personal touch. He starts the car he was working on. Mr. Kreese is talking about Mogadishu in the 90s. It was apparently a hellhole but he and his team took care of it. Hawk asks how many warlords he killed but Mr. Kreese dodges the question, comparing them to ants.

Raised rent

Zakarian raises Cobra's rent. They shake hands. Mr. Kreese keeps blabbing on about his mission but then says he was in Rwanda. Miguel catches him in the lie. It's rude to correct people like that. Mr. Kreese dodges. Cobra comes in and lines up the students. There's even a fat guy that was at the Valley Fest. Cobra thinks he's a parent and tells him to walk out.

The guy is wearing a bandana. Cobra tells him this is a class for teenagers but the guy has a lot of disposable income; you see, he lives with his mom, who doesn't charge him rent. He gives a bundle of cash and Cobra lets him stay. Cobra calls them pathetic and asks who can take Miguel on. Tory steps up and won't flinch.

Humiliating the challenger

Miguel wants to take it easy but Tory goes in hot. He is stronger, faster and dominates her but she knocks him down anyway. Damn the Plot Armor. He knocks her and she knocks him down and puts him in an arm lock. Daniel's dojo is going to the beach. Daniel says he will try recruiting their parents. Amanda is already there. Robby is triggered because he used to work there.

Aisha receives a message and scoffs. Tory asks if it's a dick pic. Wow, the little vixen has some teeth. It's her mom but Aisha doesn't want to go with her to the beach club. Aisha mentions Tory's bracelet and Tory goes on how it's a weapon that she's already used when a "creepy" guy tried to grab her in a mall (???) Girl, do you know courts loathe vigilantes? Aisha asks why she joined Cobra Kai. Aisha throws out the idea of going to the beach; Tory agrees.

Demetri complaining

He's whining to Hawk about being assaulted. Miguel asks what happened. Cobra is stenciling "Cobra Kai never dies" in a storage room when Miguel tells him about being worried about Mr. Kreese. Miguel says some of Mr. Kreese's stories don't add up. Cobra says he's on top of it. Daniel is chatting up a parent at the club.

The parent complains about his son being too wimpy. Daniel casually drops that he runs a dojo. Tory and Aisha are at the beach club. Samantha looks up and sees Aisha. Robby suggests to go talk to her. Samantha thinks she could come back with a new student. So optimistic.

Awkward chats

Samantha chats up Aisha, where else, at the buffet. Aisha doesn't want to be friends but Samantha tries to mend the relationship. Samantha wants them to get back to being friends. They gawk at Robby; Aisha calls him "abs". He does have fine abs. Robby is approached by the manage, who threatens to call the cops but Amanda approaches and handles the matter.

The manager apologizes and walks off. Amanda asks Robby about it. He says they did some bad stuff there. She tells him we all do mistakes. Cobra walks in on Mr. Kreese shouting at someone at the hotel, who apparently walked away with one of his watches. Cobra doesn't seem to be buying it. Aisha's mom, Sandra, walks up to Daniel's pow-wow and ruins it by shilling for Cobra Kai.

Not the same thing

Daniel tries to recover but the parents are already sold the idea of Cobra Kai. Poor Daniel. Samantha tells Aisha that Robby lives with her when Tory comes in with a bottle of stolen vodka. Samantha tells Tory to get it back and that stealing is bad. Tory is pissed off and calls Samantha a nun. Cat fight! Tory calls Aisha with her and she obliges.

Meanwhile, Cobra is tailing Mr. Kreese in his glaring black-yellow car. Wow, so subtle. Daniel is devastated and walks on the beach when he sees someone who looks like... Can't be! Mr. Miyagi! But it's some random stranger fishing. They chit-chat for a bit and the stranger says there's plenty of fish out there; all that matters is that one has something worth biting and the fish will find you. Daniel thanks him and walks away.

At the club

Amanda says her wallet is missing. Samantha immediately suspects Tory and confronts her. Tory is pissed by the insinuation and calls her a bitch. Samantha grabs her bag and Tory pushes her on the buffet. Aisha asks if Samantha is OK but she replies saying Tory is a "real nice friend". Cobra is ghosting Mr. Kreese, who is going to an apartment of some sort.

Meanwhile, Robby is checking a spot under the pier, from which a couple wallets drop. Two of his thug friends come in swaggering. Robby puts up his phone and starts recording. He confronts the thugs. Robby wants to fight but the third thug bangs him on the head with an oar. Yes, an oar.

There would be consequences

Mr. Kreese is bullying a guy who apparently stole something when a black lady busts in and puts him down. He apologizes. Cobra was listening to it all. Meanwhile, Robby is being bullied when Daniel jumps in. The thugs telegraph their punches and kicks. Daniel tosses them around and they're all out cold on the sand.

Cobra confronts Mr. Kreese about his situation and the fake war stories. We see Mr. Keese's history after the original movies. He says he was offered a war job but he apparently didn't accept it. Mr. Kreese says he's gotten old and feels like a broken man that can't be fixed. Cobra tells him that sounds like defeat. They shake hands and Mr. Kreese calls him "sensei".

Cold shoulder

Samantha is getting the cold shoulder treatment from Aisha. Daniel and Robby talk about the fight. The latter shows the recording and pats himself on the shoulder but Daniel doesn't want it in the public. Wow! Daniel says it's time to be patient. Demetri walks in and notices the koi pond. He wants to learn karate and Daniel gasps.

Wow, this is so strange. Cobra shows the back kick and Hawk asks a question, so Mr. Kreese answers. Miguel again asks about if it's a good idea to let him in the dojo; Cobra says it's OK. Mr. Kreese says, "When they let their guard down, that's when you strike the hardest."

Episode 5

We see a flashback about Eli/Hawk being bullied in school. He is crying his eyes out and calls himself the kid with the weird lip. He jumps on his bed and sobs.
